Meet our Team

TraceyGulbransen Tracey Sutherland - Recruitment Specialist, Medical

I joined the CDHB in 2016 after spending three years recruiting within an agency. I have been lucky enough to explore other areas of our People and Capability Services team, but have now returned back to my passion which is recruitment. I currently recruit in the medical space, which includes out Medical Specialists, Fellows and our Junior Doctors. No two days are the same within my role, which I enjoy and it's rewarding to bring in top medical talent who take care of Canterbury.

TraceyGulbransenTaryn McGregor - Recruitment Specialist, Corporate and Support

I first joined the Canterbury District Health Board in 2016 working in the People and Capability Administration Team and was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to join the Recruitment Team a year later and now work as a Recruitment Specialist. As a graduate in Human Resource Management, I have developed a passion in a field where I can support an organisation in all levels of the business to attract, develop and retain talent –  which as a Recruitment Specialist I get to do. There are exciting times ahead for the CDHB and I’m thrilled to be a part of this next chapter.

Hayley Buick - Recruitment Specialist, Allied Health

Having spent the majority of my career recruiting in the commercial sector at all levels and in all areas of business, it has been a goal of mine to partner solely with one organisation to drive their success through building strong teams. Recruiting nurses for both the major Christchurch hospitals and the smaller local hospitals in Canterbury’s rural townships has given me the opportunity to play my part in ensuring better health outcomes for all Canterbury Residents. It is great to work for an organisation that defines its success in the wellbeing of its community.

Nicki McNeill - Recruitment Specialist, Nursing

After graduating from Christchurch Polytechnic as a Registered Comprehensive Nurse I started work at Burwood Hospital in Rehab and Orthopaedics. From there I secured a position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where I stayed for over 20 years. The last two years of my career in neonates was as a Research Nurse working with the University of Otago which I thoroughly enjoyed. A recent change in direction has seen me venture into recruitment, an exciting and rewarding new phase of my career in which I’m able to help my nursing colleagues to secure the right position in the right team.

John Ray - Recruitment Specialist, WCDHB

After several years in ‘lifestyle’ roles – first as a tour guide and then a zookeeper - I decided to pursue a career in human resources.  Starting with some studies through Massey University I then spent time as a workforce planner at Christchurch Airport before joining the CDHB.  Initially working as a coordinator in the Resident Doctors Support Team, I joined the recruitment team early in 2017 as the Recruitment Specialist for the West Coast District Health Board.  My current portfolio covers all spectrums of the health services on the West Coast and I enjoy the challenges of having multiple areas of responsibility.

Tessa Johnston - Recruitment Coordinator,

I started working for the CDHB in 2016 in an administration role and have been lucky enough to move into this Recruitment Coordinator position. With degrees in both Nursing and Marketing being able to combine my unique set of skills in the recruitment environment has been really rewarding for me. I love being able to help people into their dream roles and hope to develop my career further in the CDHB.
