Meet some of the team

Pam Law, Charge Midwife Manager, Women's Outpatients.

Pam has worked in Christchurch 17 years as a core midwife, clinical coordinator and now in a management position. Pam and her family came to New Zealand for the great lifestyle and to enjoy the great outdoors. Now she calls Christchurch home. It is easy to keep in touch with family and friends through telecommunication and with Christchurch having an international airport. Pam is proud of the work she does - keeping the woman at the centre of care - working alongside women and their Lead Maternity Carers to provide the best possible care.

Di, Perinatal and Maternal Mortaility Review Coordinator.

Di has been a midwife in Canterbury for 25 years. She has had a variety of roles. In the community Di worked as a lead maternity career providing midwifery care to women and their families throughout their childbirth experience at home and in hospital. Di returned to the DHB 12 years ago to work as a midwife, then educator and now she is involved in quality improvements. As the Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Coordinator, Di supports women and midwives when there is a death of a baby.

Rhonda, Clinical Midwife Educator.

Rhonda has worked in Christchurch Women’s Hospital since December 2008; she has held various roles as a Core Midwife, Clinical Midwife Co-Coordinator on Birthing Suite, Project Co-Coordinator for Quality and Safety Team and currently as Clinical Midwife Educator. She is passionate about quality and education, to ensure midwives are practising competently, confidently and safely. Settling into life in Christchurch as home has been a challenging and slow transition, having moved here from a small Island in the British Isles. However, she has come to appreciate the friendly people, work opportunities, lifestyle and beautiful landscape in this part of the world. These have facilitated the settling in process and provided continued work opportunities which Rhonda says she has enjoyed since living and working here.
