CDHB supports a number of educational and professional development opportunities in conjunction with the requirements of the annual practising certificate and in assisting with midwives' professional growth.

Multi-disciplinary education workshops on offer include the Newborn Life Support (NLS) course, Practical Obstetric Multi Profession Training (PROMPT) course, breastfeeding and suturing study sessions, as well as many others.

The midwifery educator service is available to support you with your individual learning needs, both for midwifery council recertification requirements and for post graduate study.  We also have a regular Journal club and support midwives in quality activities and leadership development.

Most courses are approved by the Midwifery Council of New Zealand for midwives to meet compulsory and elective education requirements.
