These roles require dedication and hard work but are rewarding and you can still ‘make a difference’ in the lives of your patients and staff.

If you want to take the step up, there are an array of opportunities to suit you; Charge Nurse Manager, Clinical Team Coordinator, Associate Clinical Nurse Manager and Duty Manager role as well as Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator.

These diverse roles require a juggling act, great team work, excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional leadership qualities. We want the right people in the right roles and are committed to building and nurturing this talent.

What do I need to become a Senior Nurse?

Taking the step into a senior role can often be daunting.  To help you on your way we have a comprehensive staff development programme and will behind you every step of your journey.

Post graduate qualifications or a commitment to undertaking relevant post graduate qualifications are a requirement for all senior roles at the CDHB. As a result, we offer people management and skills-based training for first level managers, supervisors and front line staff.

Leadership is the key ingredient to any successful team and a quality we look for in our Senior Nurses.  We offer a Management & Leadership Programme for Clinical Directors and Senior Managers, and a Management Development Programme for Line Managers/Supervisors.
