The Rheumatology and Immunology Service provides inpatient, outpatient, day patient and inter-hospital consultative services for patients with rheumatic disease, primary immunodeficiency and serious allergy.
Three Rheumatologists, a Rheumatologist/Immunologist and an Immunologist, a Rheumatology Registrar and Immunology Registrar run the clinical service. The Immunologists also have commitments to the Immunology Laboratory, Canterbury Health Laboratories. The Registrar position is accredited for Rheumatology Advanced Training. The service has also been accredited for Joint Physician and Pathology training in Immunology. Clinical research and student teaching is encouraged.
